Pimax’s US store lists the Crystal Super micro-OLED optical engine at $1,199, before shipping and tax, with a preorder label. This is an optical module for the Crystal Super, not a complete headset. The listing offers separate old 70-pin and new 62-pin selections.

Check the connector before the specifications

In its October 2 announcement, Pimax said the two versions are incompatible. Owners who are unsure should have support check their headset serial number. The company announced an October 8 opening for a limited production batch and a delivery target of late November or December 2026, in purchase order.

Pimax also specifies one engine per headset serial number and says it checks orders against valid Crystal Super ownership. It asks customers to use the account or email used for the headset purchase; buyers from another retailer should identify that in their order note.

What the advertised upgrade does—and does not establish

The product page advertises 3,840 × 3,552 pixels per eye and a refresh rate up to 90Hz. Those are manufacturer specifications. They do not establish perceived clarity, optical comfort or the frame rate your PC will achieve in a particular application.

For an existing owner, our first decision point is therefore compatibility, followed by the total upgrade cost. A higher display specification cannot resolve a mismatched physical connection. Keep the exact module selection and support confirmation with the order record, and compare the final cart with the amount you are prepared to spend.

Treat delivery as a target

The preorder wording is not evidence of immediate dispatch. We did not complete a checkout or verify remaining stock. Before paying, read the current delivery and order terms shown for your destination, especially if you need the module by a fixed date.

This report concerns the Crystal Super optical engine. The separately announced Crystal Pro headset is a different purchase decision; its price and wireless features should not be used to interpret this module listing.
