Ultimechs multiplayer services are scheduled to end on October 20, 2026. Resolution Games says the free VR sports game will continue to offer single-player matches after the shutdown, so this is not a complete end-of-play notice.
The October 8 developer announcement also says in-app purchases are disabled. Players who already bought UltiCoins can still spend that balance after multiplayer ends. Resolution did not give a reason for the change.
What changes on Steam
Resolution says Ultimechs and the separate Ultimechs Spectator app will be delisted from Steam. The spectator client will no longer be able to watch matches. As of Choosense’s October 10 check, the main game is still listed as free and its Steam page still advertises online PvP, online co-op, cross-platform multiplayer and single-player.
UploadVR reports that the developer posted the same shutdown notice on the Meta Horizon Store, with storefront-specific wording. The live Meta listing still shows the game as free and identifies both multiplayer and single-user modes. We did not find a primary notice that clearly states what happens to the PICO store listing, although Resolution’s product page names PICO 4 and PICO Neo 3 among supported devices.
What players should do before October 20
If you want a final online session, plan it before October 20. If you have paid UltiCoins, review the in-game options while the current service is available. The notice does not promise that new users will be able to download the game after it is delisted, or explain whether previous owners can redownload it later. Installing it now is not a guarantee of permanent access.
For anyone evaluating the game after the shutdown, the practical product will be narrower: bot-based single-player instead of the multiplayer-first experience still described by today’s store pages. That difference matters more than the zero-dollar price.
