An announcement answers what a company plans to sell. A purchase decision also needs the exact configuration, payment terms, delivery status and evidence that the required features work. Use this checklist when reading our launch coverage or a manufacturer’s product page. It is a way to organize evidence, not a verdict on every preorder.
Separate four different milestones
| Milestone | What to record | What it does not establish alone |
|---|---|---|
| Announcement | What the company says it intends to offer | An orderable, finished product |
| Demonstration | Who tried which hardware and software build | The final retail experience |
| Reservation or preorder | What this specific payment obtains | Immediate delivery or identical terms elsewhere |
| Shipping or availability | Region, configuration and stated timing | Stock and arrival date for your own order |
These are reading categories, not universal definitions of a seller’s contract. Keep the seller’s exact label with the terms you found. A presentation date, demo schedule and delivery estimate can all refer to different events without being interchangeable.
Read what the first payment actually buys
On October 10, 2026, Pimax’s US store described a $1 Crystal Pro reservation as non-refundable, with a later $20 headset discount or $50 bundle discount. That small displayed amount is not the full headset price. The same page used broad 2027 shipping language and listed the DisplayPort cable as optional rather than included.
For any offer, record the amount due now, the later price or unknown balance, the stated benefit, cancellation wording and the selected configuration. Save the dated terms for your own records. Do not assume a deposit is deducted from the final balance unless the seller says so. If an essential condition is missing, keep it unresolved instead of guessing from the checkout button.
Keep a shipping target attached to its source
Pimax’s October 6 Frontier FAQ gave a spring 2027 shipping target for Crystal Pro, while the store used the broader year. Those statements still do not provide an individual customer’s arrival date. In a comparison note, preserve the source and wording of each rather than turning the more precise target into a confirmed delivery promise.
Ask whether timing applies to the first shipment, your region, the chosen configuration or all orders. If you need a device for a fixed event, write that deadline separately. Then decide whether the published evidence actually addresses it. Choosense does not monitor an individual order or guarantee delivery.
Match the headline feature to the paid configuration
Pimax’s product page separates included Wi-Fi streaming from its optional 60G AirLink kit. It attaches the uncompressed foveated-streaming claim to that kit. This is a manufacturer claim, not our measurement. Comparing the headline feature against only the base price would omit the configuration needed for the claim.
Make a bill of materials for the feature you want: headset, optional module, cables, controllers, computing device and software. Distinguish “supported” from “included.” Use the chosen seller’s contents list, not the accessories pictured together in an announcement image.
Classify the evidence behind performance claims
Label evidence as a company specification, a controlled demonstration, an independent test with stated conditions, or an unanswered question. A company video can demonstrate an intended use without establishing repeatable results in your room. A reviewer’s observation also needs the tested hardware, software version and workload to be useful.
At this check, the Crystal Pro product page still left CPU, RAM, storage and operating-system requirements to be determined. A GPU line alone therefore did not complete the documented PC requirements. For a device you are considering, copy any similarly unresolved requirement into your notes rather than treating it as automatically satisfied.
Finish with a decision-changing question
Before paying, choose the one missing fact most likely to change your decision: support for your PC, the total for the required kit, the payment conditions or delivery timing. Look for a source that answers that exact question. If the evidence remains incomplete, waiting for that answer is a valid outcome; completing a checklist does not require making a purchase.

Pimax’s product, store and FAQ pages checked October 10, 2026. Product examples are dated manufacturer statements for upcoming hardware; no checkout purchase, shipment verification or hands-on test was performed. The general checklist is Choosense’s editorial method, not a statement of statutory refund rights or a recommendation to reserve the device. Source wording about timing is preserved as a target, not a delivery promise. Prepared under standing owner authorization; individual human review is not claimed.
