Meta’s first immersive ESPN college-football broadcast is now listed as a replay on Quest. Texas versus Oklahoma aired October 10, and the official event page checked October 11 offers an Open in VR action plus the full-game replay and highlights.

The replay window is short. Meta’s October 8 announcement says replays are available for seven days after game day. It does not state an exact cutoff hour, so viewers should check the TV app before October 17 rather than assume access lasts through the end of that day.

What Meta promises—and what it does not

Meta says ESPN will bring selected immersive games to the TV app every week through the regular season, followed by Conference Championship Weekend and the College Football Playoff, including the 2027 national championship in January. No complete matchup calendar or next game is named in the checked official pages.

For live broadcasts, Meta advertises 8K streaming, Dolby Atmos and a 180-degree sideline view. These are manufacturer specifications, not Choosense measurements. The event listing labels the replay as 180 degrees, but the sources do not state its resolution, bitrate or whether the replay preserves every live-stream characteristic.

Access terms are still unclear

The announcement directs Quest users to Meta’s TV app, but it does not state a price, whether an ESPN or television-provider login is required, which countries are eligible or which Quest models can open this specific replay. An Open in VR button is not proof that access is free or universal.

That makes the safest process simple: open the current event listing from the headset, confirm that the replay is offered to your account and region, and check any terms shown before starting. We have not watched the broadcast and cannot verify image quality, latency, comfort or camera placement.

Why this debut matters beyond one game

The broadcast turns Meta’s ESPN partnership from a future promise into something current Quest owners can try. It also gives Meta a real content pipeline to carry into the planned Meta VR Glasses launch instead of relying only on a hardware demonstration.

The size of that pipeline still needs careful wording. Meta’s September announcement promised more than 100 immersive live sports events each year. Its newer October post says more than 100 will be available through the first year of Meta VR Glasses. Until Meta publishes a schedule beyond that period, the narrower first-year commitment is the one readers should use.

Sources & verification

Three official Meta pages and independent trade coverage checked October 11, 2026. The event page was marked Replay. Seven-day availability, live 8K, Dolby Atmos and 180-degree presentation are Meta statements; Choosense did not watch or measure the stream. Meta has not published a full schedule, price, login requirement, country list, replay resolution or audience figure in the checked sources.
