PAYDAY: Aces High has a Steam demo available now, but the full game has not launched. Fast Travel Games’ current Steam announcement sets November 5, 2026 for the Steam and Meta release and says the playtest can be played until Monday, October 26. The useful next step is choosing the correct route for your headset—not treating every store listing as the same playable build.
This is a new access milestone, not a newly discovered September promise. The publisher had already announced the October 19 demo date in September. When checked on October 19, Steam actually displayed a Download PAYDAY: Aces High Demo control alongside the full game’s unreleased status.
What is available now, and what remains planned
The developer says the demo includes Flowtrust Bank and the Cosmopolitan Museum of Art. It also promises participants a Kitty Mask in the full game at release. We have not redeemed that reward, verified its account-matching rules or confirmed that demo progress transfers. Do not read a cosmetic reward promise as a save-transfer guarantee.
The announcement gives October 26 as the playtest end date, without a precise cutoff hour or timezone in the text we retrieved. If your group wants to try it, arrange the session before the final day rather than assuming access lasts through your local midnight. November 5 remains a planned full-game release, not evidence that the finished game is already downloadable.
Choose a route before sending your friends a link
| Your route | What the opened sources establish | Check before the session |
|---|---|---|
| Steam PC VR | Steam offers the demo and lists Windows PC requirements, including Quest via link among VR support. | Use the Steam demo and verify the PC-to-headset route; this is not the standalone Quest-store edition. |
| Steam Frame | The developer says Frame uses the same Steam-store version as SteamVR. | Do not treat that statement as a tested native-demo performance or feature-parity result. |
| Standalone Quest | The official game site advertises an open playtest. The retrieved public Meta main listing still says Coming soon and Add to wishlist. | Follow the publisher’s current playtest instructions and verify your exact headset/access flow; wishlisting alone is not installation. |
The Quest page observation does not prove the advertised playtest is unavailable. It means we could not independently confirm enrollment from that public main listing. Keep a launch wishlist, playtest access and an installed application separate when helping someone troubleshoot.
For the Windows PC route, Steam lists a Core i5-7500 or Ryzen 5 1600, 12 GB RAM, GTX 1060 or RX 580 with 6 GB VRAM, and 10 GB free storage as minimums. These are publisher-listed requirements, not our performance measurements or a guarantee for your streaming configuration. They should not be repurposed as native Steam Frame benchmark results.
A short co-op test worth doing before buying
The official game page describes co-op for up to four players. Steam also lists Cross-Platform Multiplayer, but that label alone does not document every demo pairing, friend-invite path or current build combination. We have not tested a mixed Quest/Steam party.
Our suggested first session has three checks. First, each person records the exact store, headset and installed build; agree on the same heist before inviting anyone. Second, check whether your actual group can form a lobby and start together. Note whether any failure happens at invitation, loading or in the mission, rather than describing all three as a generic connection problem.
Third, repeat a short section on the same setup and note visible pauses, input problems or connection drops. Keep those observations separate from whether you enjoy the team roles and pacing. A launch trailer cannot answer those setup-specific questions, and another player’s PC footage is not your Quest performance result. This is a proposed evaluation workflow, not a test Choosense has performed.
That is the value of the current window: you can investigate the route your group intends to use before the planned full release. It does not establish final-game quality, launch-day reliability or permission to transfer a purchase between stores. We have not verified a final U.S. checkout total and are not presenting a tested review or a buying verdict.
Use the app-compatibility checklist: store, device and cross-play are separate

Opened publisher Steam announcement, official game/Frame/demo pages, current Steam and Meta listings and official media kit on October 19, 2026. The current Steam news item displays 10:00am at retrieval; older announcements have explicit August 26/September 24 dates. Steam shows an actual demo download control, but no download or game installation was performed. The retrieved public Quest main listing still says Coming soon; this is not proof that the advertised playtest is unavailable through another official flow. No exact October 26 cutoff hour/timezone, tested cross-store lobby, reward redemption, progress transfer, demo/native-Frame parity, exhaustive headset support or U.S. checkout total verified.
